Passing your driving test means much more than just getting a piece of paper with your picture on it; it means that you are able to drive which means freedom, convenience, independence and so much more. It could be the magnitude of it all that plays on nerves causing almost fifty percent of people to fail their
first road test.
Along with the stress, there is also a lack of knowledge that comes from going through the motions of driving lessons just assuming that this somehow guarantees you a pass, or maybe it’s a combination of both factors. Whatever the reason for this astounding statistic, if you want to pass your
driving test and start enjoying all of the conveniences of driving, then you need to gain the right knowledge to give you the confidence and know-how that you need in order to pass with flying colors.
A common mistake that people make when preparing for their driving test is focusing solely on technique. Don’t get me wrong; mastering the perfect parallel park or three point turn is important, but most are so busy focusing on the technical aspect of these moves that they forget the absolute most important thing–safety! If you think that the only way to impress your tester is to parallel park so that your car is just so; you are in for a rude awakening because he or she will be looking for your safety awareness as well. As a matter of fact there are several things that your tester will be looking for during the course of your test that can be easily missed, leading to a fail.
Remembering all of the practical stuff as well as doing them as safely as possible AND to the standards of your tester makes it easy to get confused, flustered or even more nervous which can cause a lot of self doubt and shatter your confidence. This is why it is so important to be fully aware of what will be expected of you and learn how to do it all to the best of your ability.
You may think that the best way to prepare for your driving test is to invest in more lessons, but I can’t stress enough that basic lessons don’t guarantee you a pass. One of the best ways that I have come across to really get the inside track on your road test is a site called Get Ready To Pass which offers you
step by step instruction through an actual road test using real footage of both an automobile road test and a motorcycle test. They show you in detail what is expected of you during your test and their focus on safety is phenomenal. If you want to pass your test with flying colors the first time around then
you should check out Get Ready To Pass. You’ll be glad you did!
