The road test is the second part of the exam for getting a divers’ license and it consists mostly of the practical part, the one in which the candidate must prove his driving abilities. There are numerous tasks which the future driver must fulfill and a certain number of points that he will get for every one of the tasks required to him by the examiner.
At the final of the license road test, the candidate must score a certain number of points, depending on how important is each of the tasks that he has to fulfill, in order to pass the entire driving license exam and get the actual license. During the driving test, the examiner will note each of the high or low levels that the candidate presents at the time of the examination.
There is a certain established route that the candidate must drive upon and during this practical test, the examiner takes notes of all the maneuvers that the candidate makes, good or bad ones. Depending on the driving skills that the candidate proves during this examination, he/she is given or not the driving license, in function of his preparation for the test.
There is a set of skills that are examined during this practical test. The first skill that is put under expertise is the way the candidate starts the car and how he/she sets off. This is a very difficult task especially for women, at the beginning, as studies have shown, if they are not completely accustomed with the pedals of the test car. The risk is that the engine may stop by cause of this problem and by many other factors, like stress for example and hence, the shaking of legs on the pedals.
Other monitored skills by the examiner are the way the candidate stops the car, the way the candidate has the control over the vehicle, distance judging, parking skills, backing, steering or merging the car. All of these are included in the evaluation test, as all of them are of great importance when driving on public roads.
If a candidate is not familiar with at least three quarters of there procedures, he will unfortunately fail the exam and can only take it again after a while in which he is advised to study harder for it. The periods after which a candidate is allowed to pass the next license road test vary from one country to another, depending on the law system of that certain country.
